In honour of International Talk Like a Pirate Day 2013 ,the Gulf of Georgia Cannery invited young and old to participate in a weekend o’ fun activities this past Saturday and Sunday. The Shady Isle Pirates were on hand with the mini-brig Liberte and Adventure, giving cannon firing demonstrations, telling tall tales, playing a wee bit of shanty tunes, and providing a swashbuckling good time! — at Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site.
